Welcome to SubItUp

SubItUp is an online utility to make adding, dropping, or switching shifts at your hourly job as easy as a few clicks. We have taken the hassle out of it by eliminating the need to call every coworker in your directory to change one shift in your schedule. Just log onto SubItUp and communicate with fellow employees clearly and quickly.

You begin by creating an account and then entering your current work schedule. Now you are ready to make changes to that schedule!

If you’re looking to pick up a shift to provide a little extra income, click “Add” and pick from any of the available shifts that have been “dropped” by your coworkers. If you want to drop a shift because you need to be somewhere else, click “Drop” and the shift will be offered to other employees who work in your department. Or if you need to miss a shift but want to add a different shift to maintain your number of hours, click “Switch.”

If no one picks up a switch you dropped or requested to trade, you are still responsible to show up to your shift! Unless your employer is onboard with SuItUp, the site is simply an employee-run tool to make things easier for you – not the final word of your supervisor!

We recommend inviting all your coworkers to use the site to increase both the supply and demand of shifts. If you know your employer does not allow employee shift changes without permission, you can still use SubItUp to organize the shift change, just run it by your boss after you sort it out with your coworker. You can also encourage your employer to check out SubItUp and make the site an official tool for your workplace. This lets everyone be on the same page, making shift switching even more seamless.
